Privacy
We store what a sitter enters to send reports — client names, pet details, photos and notes — and nothing we don't need. No ads, no tracking cookies, nothing sold.
Last updated 2026-08-20. PawRecap is operated by Optera AI LLC.
If you are a pet sitter with an account
Your email address, used to sign you in by emailed link (there is no password) and to tell you about your account.
Your business details: the name, logo and colour you choose to show on reports, an optional link to wherever you collect reviews, an optional reply-to address, and your timezone (detected from your browser so visit times read correctly).
Your clients and their pets: names, an optional owner email and phone, care notes, and anything you write about them. We never ask for, or store, a client's address.
Your visits: when they started and ended, the checklist, photos, notes and mood, and — once sent — the report link, when it was opened, and any reaction the owner tapped on it.
Your monthly recaps: if you create one, the recap link and which pet and month it covers. The recap page shows only the pet and your branding — no client name, no visit notes — with its stats worked out from that month's visits each time it loads.
Your subscription: which plan you are on and the Stripe identifiers needed to manage it. Card details go to Stripe directly and never reach us.
If you are a pet owner who received a report
Your sitter entered your name and, if they chose to, your email address so reports can be delivered to you. That is all we hold about you, and it is held on your sitter's behalf: they can correct or remove it, and if you would rather it were gone, ask them or us. When you open a report we record that it was opened, when, and the page that linked you to it (if your browser sends one), so your sitter can see it reached you. If you tap a reaction on a report, we record which one and when, so your sitter sees it — tap it again to take it back. We do not create an account for you, set a tracking cookie, or contact you for any other reason.
Cookies
The only cookies are the ones that keep a sitter signed in. Report and recap pages set none. Our analytics are cookieless (below), which is why there is no cookie banner.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views on the marketing site and the app. It sets no cookies, stores no personal data and cannot identify anyone. Report and recap pages are not included.
Who else sees your data
- Supabase hosts the database, sign-in and photo storage.
- Amazon Web Services sends the emails — sign-in links to sitters, reports to owners.
- Stripe handles subscription payments for sitters.
- Anthropic powers the optional “Polish” button: when a sitter taps it, that visit's notes, checklist and pet names are sent to Anthropic's Claude API, which writes the tidied version the sitter then reviews. Nothing is sent unless the button is tapped, and this data is not used to train their models.
- Vercel and Cloudflare serve the site and, like any host, see request logs.
Nobody else. We do not sell, rent or share data, and there is no marketing list.
Photos
Photos are stored in a private bucket. Report and recap pages show them through short-lived links created when the page loads, so a photo's address cannot be shared on its own. Retention is described in the Terms: free-plan photos older than 18 months may be archived or deleted after notice.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
For as long as the sitter's account exists. A sitter can delete their account from the Account page at any time; everything in it — clients, pets, visits, photos, report and recap pages — is deleted with it, immediately. Stripe keeps its own record of payments as the law requires them to.
